McDowall
McDowall is a suburb located in the City of Brisbane, Queensland. The population was 6,818 in the 2011 census. During the same year, the median age of the inhabitants was 38. However, McDowall had a growth rate of 1 year more than the Australian median. There are seven estates in McDowall. A large patch of bushland resides in the area. Several shopping centers and specialty stores are located in the area.
One of the main attractions in the area is the Raven Street Reserve. It consists of a 24 hectare stretch of lush bushland. This is a part of a larger green belt in the area. In the 1960s, the reserve began to evolve.
Another attraction in the area is the McDowall State School. It opened in 1975 with 36 students and six teachers. As the name suggests, the school is in honor of Colonel John McDowall, an early settler in the area. When the local residents saw that the school was named in his honor, they quickly chose it over another option, Annand.
McDowall is also home to many trees and patches of bushland. Its closest major city is Brisbane, which is located just 10 km away. McDowall is also near Everton Park, Chermside West, Stafford Heights and the Bunyaville State Forest Park. Some of the roads in the area are themed to commemorate a few notable celebrities.

Additionally, the school is close to the new Foodie precinct in Everton Park.
