Stormwater Flooding

Inner West Brisbane is known for its hilly landscape and this can cause a few headaches for stormwater drainage. Inadequate stormwater drainage can cause flooding both outside and inside your home. To prevent a flood, ensure your house has adequate stormwater drainage (think downpipes, pits, grates etc), and then check that the gutters, downpipes and stormwater pipes aren’t blocked with leaves or rubbish. This can cause a backup of stormwater. A hose can be used to flush away a blockage. If this isn’t powerful enough, a plumber will need to be called to unblock the storm water drain for you.
